This
workshop has been completed.
Visit Florida when the birds are plentiful and the
weather is, well, better than any other place in
the country. Come explore, learn and photograph
some of Florida’s hottest birding locations
with a Florida Native, Photographer and Master Naturalist,
James Shadle.
On our list of locations for this photography workshop,
weather being the variable, are:
Ft.Desoto, Venice Rookery, Honeymoon Island, Cockroach
Bay Preserve, Apollo Beach Preserve and Wolf Branch
Creek Preserve.
This workshop is a nice mix of the “sure
thing” locations (Ft.Desoto and Venice)
and locations that are off the beaten path, but
very rewarding.
Expect busy days, sunrise to sunset. But for
those who desire a break, no problem.
You can relax and recoup during a midday break.
Many like to break at lunch, a rest sped from
the midday sun, or just a refreshing nap. We will
make arrangements for everyone to meet for the
afternoon shoot; others may join me for some midday
macro (if I don’t fall asleep under a tree).
This is also a nice workshop for those who might
be interested in macro photography. When the sun
is high (and so is the contrast) I like to photograph
macro subjects.
It is a great way to squeeze every drop of light
out of a day.
This
time of year the weather can be paradise, hot or
believe it or not cold. Be prepared, I like to wear
light weight long sleeve shirts and long light weight
fast drying pants. Don’t forget your hat,
sunscreen and while at this time of year, we almost
never need insect repellent, just in case, bring
your favorite insect repellent. This way I know
we won’t need it.
We hope to photograph:
